Sosa: Rice is everywhere, Havertz scores without touching the ball

Former Napoli forward Roberto Carlos Sosa broke down Arsenal's strengths on Radio Marte ahead of Napoli's Champions League opener against Mikel Arteta's side at the Maradona.

Speaking on Radio Marte's "Los Ultimos Diez", former Napoli forward Roberto Carlos Sosa analysed the Arsenal side Napoli face at the Maradona on Wednesday 9 September, in the opening matchday of the Champions League League Phase. He compared Mikel Arteta's Gunners to Fabregas's Como: a team that plays very high up the pitch, with an attacking structure full of quality players whose role you can never quite pin down. His example was Declan Rice.

He should be a central midfielder, but you find him at right-back, on the left wing, in front of the defence and taking free-kicks.

Sosa also flagged Arsenal's set pieces, handled by former Argentina defender Gabriel Heinze and, in his words, "Arsenal's strong point". Up front, Kai Havertz can influence a game without touching the ball — a reference to the Chelsea match, where he scored, set up a goal and produced a feint that left three opponents on the floor — alongside a "very fast" Bukayo Saka on the right. For Wednesday's game, Sosa said he hopes Gyokeres starts instead: "Gyokeres could play in Napoli: let's hope the German stays on the bench instead."
