Vergara set for first senior Italy call-up
Head coach Roberto Mancini has named the Napoli midfielder among 30 players for Nations League games against Belgium, France and Turkey, alongside Di Lorenzo, Meret and Politano.

Antonio Vergara has received his first senior Italy call-up. Head coach Roberto Mancini included him in a 30-man squad for Nations League fixtures against Belgium, France and Turkey, rewarding his progress at Napoli after he started at San Siro against Inter before making way for Kevin De Bruyne in the Champions League opener against Arsenal.
Three other Napoli players join him: captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, kept on in defence, goalkeeper Alex Meret, who retains the coaching staff's trust, and vice-captain Matteo Politano, called up among the wide forwards.

The news lands on the day of the Champions League opener against Arsenal. Serie A returns to the Maradona on Sunday against Bologna, before the September international break.
