Napoli striker Alisson Santos facing scan after new thigh injury
The forward lasted just 20 minutes off the bench against Venezia before pulling up again, the third muscle setback for Napoli in a month.

Alisson Santos came on against Venezia, had a shot saved by Stankovic, then pulled up holding the back of his thigh after just 20 minutes. It is barely a month since a muscle problem ruled him out of Napoli's Champions League opener against Arsenal. He has a scan on Monday morning to confirm the extent of the damage.
It is the third case of its kind in a matter of weeks. Anguissa went off early in Florence with a low-grade myofascial strain, while Neres made his first start in eight months only to break down again between the Frosinone and Villarreal games, with a low-grade semimembranosus injury that will keep him out for at least three weeks. Three players declared fit, selected and then stopped again almost as soon as they returned.

There is better news elsewhere. The latest checks have cleared Vergara to return, though he will not be ready for Bodø/Glimt on Tuesday 20 October and is instead targeting the Roma game. Buongiorno remains out longer, still recovering from meniscus surgery; both he and Favasuli are aiming to be back for Napoli-Torino on 21 November.
