Know the enemy: Tedesco's Bologna still chasing a first win

Bologna travel to the Maradona 15th in Serie A, with one point from three games and only two goals scored — both arriving in the comeback against Sassuolo. Domenico Tedesco, in charge since the summer, is still searching for a settled identity. The club's most recent signing is Dutch striker Enem, bought from Red Star Belgrade for €6m, while Juan Miranda stayed at the club despite late interest from Juventus before the window closed.

Up front, the man Bologna are relying on to turn their season around is Dovbyk. The former Girona striker needs to rediscover his form, but it was he who scored the stoppage-time equaliser against Sassuolo. Piccoli is pushing him from the bench, already on the scoresheet with a header. On the flanks, Cambiaghi — named by the club as the key man wide — and Bernardeschi, dropped back into a central midfield role and one of the team's most proactive players with shots from distance and driving runs, both carry threat. Enem, a physical striker comfortable attacking in behind, adds another option up top.

The cracks so far have shown in the tight moments. Against Sassuolo, Bologna drew level through Piccoli in the 49th minute, only to concede again five minutes later to Adzic — just as they appeared to have taken control. Bologna have not won at home at the Dall'Ara since April. In defence, Theate's place is in doubt ahead of the trip to Naples, while in midfield Tedesco has lost Volpato, who went off in the last game with a right hamstring problem.

Napoli arrive at this game without a win in three and with little patience left for another stumble at home. Bologna are 15th and still finding their feet, but they have already shown they can turn a game around from two goals down. The Maradona needs a real response — not another night spent chasing the match.
