Roma score five at Udinese as Bologna move level with Napoli on 14

Roma are a point off the top and Bologna have joined Napoli and Juventus on 14, which makes Sunday night's game in Turin a fight for places in the table as well as three points.

Roma won 5-2 away at Udinese and are up to 24 points. That puts them third, a point behind Lazio and Inter on 25.

The games played matter here. Roma and Inter have played ten, Lazio nine. Udinese stay second from bottom with 5 points from ten matches.

For Napoli the point is simple. The Roma side that drew 3-3 at the Maradona are now ten points ahead of us.

Bologna catch up

Bologna beat Monza 2-1 and are on 14 points, level with Napoli and Juventus, though they have played a game more. Monza stay 16th on 7 points from ten games. It is another defeat for them after losing 1-4 to us on Wednesday.

Frosinone make the most noise

The standout result of the midweek round belonged to Frosinone, who beat Lecce 5-1. They are sixth on 17 points, three more than us from the same number of games. Lecce are 14th on 9.

Fiorentina and Atalanta drew 2-2, which helps neither. Fiorentina are 17th with 5 points. Atalanta are 12th with 11, a long way off the sides they are supposed to be competing with for Europe.

Sunday's fixtures

Almost the whole round is played on Sunday 1 November. Como v Venezia starts things at 12:30 CET. Como are fifth on 20 and would go up to 23 with a win.

At 15:00 Lazio host Cagliari. A win would take Lazio to 28 and top of the table on their own. Also at 15:00, Frosinone play Torino, who are on 13, a point below us. Lecce v Genoa follows at 18:00. Sassuolo v Fiorentina and Atalanta v Parma are on Monday 2 November.

Juventus v Napoli

Then, at 20:45 CET (19:45 UK, 14:45 ET), it is Juventus v Napoli at the Allianz Stadium, with both sides on 14 points. The winner pulls clear of the other and moves above Bologna. The loser could be passed by Torino too.

For weeks the city has complained that this team is too cautious. Against a direct rival on Sunday night, we will find out whether, after Monza, the side has the courage the fanbase is asking for.
