Sanchez Martinez to referee Napoli-Bodø/Glimt
UEFA has appointed the Spanish official for Tuesday's Champions League clash at the Maradona, with Portugal's Lopes Martins on VAR.
UEFA has confirmed the officials for Napoli-Bodø/Glimt, the third matchday of the Champions League league phase, kicking off at 21:00 CET on Tuesday 20 October at the Diego Armando Maradona. Spain's Sanchez Martinez takes charge, assisted by fellow Spaniards Raul Cabanero Martinez and Inigo Prieto Lopez de Cerain, with countryman Juan Martinez Munuera as fourth official. Portugal's Tiago Bruno Lopes Martins is on VAR, assisted by Spain's Carlos Del Cerro Grande as AVAR.
Napoli go into the game with zero points in the league phase, having lost 0-1 to Arsenal on matchday one and 3-1 at Villarreal. In between came a league defeat at Venezia, their fifth in nine official games this season — a run that has already revived talk of a pre-match retreat (ritiro), denied in recent days by Carlo Alvino.
